Process
Draw a new shape.
Extrude pasta at high speed.
01
Design your shape
Use our in-browser design tool to sketch your pasta shape. Design rules keep your creation manufacturable.
02
Preview in 3D
We generate a 3D model of your insert and render it back to you. You'll see exactly what the mold will look like before you commit. If you want to adjust, go back and edit.
03
Submit for review
When you're satisfied, submit your design. We review every custom order before it goes to the machine shop — to confirm the geometry is valid and the design will produce the pasta shape you're expecting. You'll hear from us within one business day with a review and details on how to pay.
04
We make it
Once approved, your design goes to our partner machine shops. The die insert is made from 316L stainless steel. There are no coatings applied.
Lead time for custom inserts is approximately 1–2 weeks from approval.
05
Quality check & ship
When parts arrive from the machine shop, we inspect every insert before it ships — checking dimensions, surface finish, and that the profile matches your design. Then we package it and ship it to you with full tracking.
06
Press, extrude, eat
Your insert fits the same way the stock dies do — swap it into your KitchenAid KSMPEXTA or Marcato Regina, load your dough, and extrude. The shape is yours- give it a name!

FAQ
Which machines do these inserts work with?
Two: the KitchenAid Gourmet Pasta Press (model KSMPEXTA) and the Marcato Regina manual pasta extruder. No other machines. Please reach out if you have another machine you'd like an insert for!
What material are the inserts made from?
316L stainless steel — commonly used in commercial kitchen and food processing equipment. Food-safe, corrosion-resistant, and durable under extrusion pressure.
Are they dishwasher safe?
Yes. 316L stainless holds up to repeated dishwashing without corroding or discoloring. After use, knock out any leftover dough and run it through the wash like any other kitchen tool.
How fine can my design features be?
Minimum feature width is approximately 1.5–2 mm, but if your design requires something smaller, reach out and we can custom quote.
Can I order a design someone else made?
Yes — with their permission. If a design is listed in our gallery, the original designer has opted in and you can order it.
What if the mold doesn't match my design?
Manufacturing errors are on us — we'll replace it. If the issue is that the pasta shape doesn't look how you imagined (a design intent problem, not a manufacturing problem), we'll work with you on a revised design at a reduced cost.
Can I get a refund on a custom order?
Custom orders are non-refundable once manufacturing begins — we cut metal to your spec and can't reuse it. We review every design before approving, so if there's a problem we'll catch it before the machine shop sees it.
How long does shipping take?
Stock items ship within 1–3 business days. Custom orders take 1–2 weeks from approval to ship. We ship via USPS Priority Mail and provide tracking.
